Saudi Arabia: Maritime Licence Rules Suspended for One Month
Gulf News, 23 March 2026: Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended the documentation and certificate requirements needed to issue or renew navigation licences and work permits for maritime units operating in its Arabian Gulf territorial waters.
The one‑month suspension applies to both Saudi and foreign vessels and forms part of emergency regulatory measures introduced in response to heightened regional tensions affecting shipping lanes, including disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz.
