Oman: New Regulation Issued For SME Registration

Atheer, 5 February 2023: The Chairwoman of Oman’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Authority has issued Oman Decision No. 56/2023 on issuing regulations to register SMEs and on issuing business entrepreneurs’ identity documents.

Based on this decision, SME owners must correct their position to align with the regulations’ provisions. This must be done within 90 days following the date the regulations come into force.

Headquarters must also be within the geographical borders of Oman.

Entrepreneur cards can be obtained if the owner is fully committed to the project. However, they must also be registered with the Labour Ministry as the business owner.
