Qatar Tribune, 18 March 2024: Qatar’s Shoura Council has reviewed a draft law amending Qatar Law No. 11/2004 (the Penal Code),

It was referred to the Council by the government.

The government have decided to it to its Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee to consider and report back on to the Council.

The Council also approved a draft law repealing Qatar Law No. 2/1991 imposing a fee on extracting certificates issued by the Interior Ministry and its affiliated agencies.

In addition, the Council approved a draft law repealing Qatar Law No. 7/1991 imposing a fee on extracting certificates issued by the Defence Ministry.

It did so after reviewing a report from the Internal and External Affairs Committee on the laws.
